Builder / Year : Gusto, Schiedam/ 1916
Eng: 3 cy Triple Expansion/ 750 IPK
Homeport / Flag : Terschelling/ Dutch
Tonnage : brt. 329; net. 62.40
Dimensions : 36,47x7,43x4,12 meter

Build in 1916, ordered by the Dutch Gouverment also to be used as a pilot tender but managed by a tugboat company.
1928: bought by Reederij Doeksen, Terschelling
for a while the ship carried the name "Ocean" but the higher ups in the Gouverment were not happy with this spelling and was the name changed to "Oceaan"
The boat was build as a tug and not as a salvage tug and was for real salvage work underpowered.
Because of this the boat was chartered to the Dutch Gouverment for a long term.
1939: as Coastel Defence vessel "BV 4", stationed at Terschelling
1940: by the crew purposly grounded in the Boschgat and CTL.
Hartelijke Groet/Kind regards.

The tug was a Amiralty Whaler and rebuilt to a salvage tug and bought by Doeksen in 1931.
